We recently found a Drill Press laser alignment tool when searching the Internet for a laser alignment option for our CNC Plasma cutter. The were very reasonable at $29 a piece. We purchased another one for this project and mounted it on the router. The laser kit comes with an alignment rod for lining up the lasers and “calibrating” the lines. We attached the unit to the router with the included metal hose clamp. The unit runs on a 9 volt battery and has a on/off switch on the side. Simple no wires to run or worry about how to power the unit.
This laser will make aligning start points and very simple. While very accurate the laser system is not going to be a down to the .0001 tool. But it will work great for getting us in the ball park when we start to cut.
Electronics / Stepper Controller has arrived!
The Electronics Controller package arrived from CandCNC, We ordered the BladeRunner 4 Package.
On this machine we only have the need for 3 steppers but the spare stepper is nice to have if we need a replacement down the road or if we decide to upgrade to a larger table that has a dual Y drive.
The package comes complete with all of the cables needed to hoop the system up to our computer. As well as all of the software necessary to customize Mach3 with specialized custom screens.
