Art and CAD - Computer Aided Drafting, are some very broad categories. When you want to create some basic shapes or edit a picture or create a simple drawing you need an art program, a cad program or both. There are hundreds of options from free to thousands of dollars. Learning curves and ease of use are very important. One program that I have been using for many years and have found very inexpensive and easy to use is Serif DrawPlus X6. The program works as a draw program, art editor, and basic CAD program. I have used this program as my exclusive plasma design program. I have created everything from very detailed artwork to intricate CAD drawings.
